Tamil Nadu clinches National sub-junior boys’ football title

The Tamil Nadu sub-junior boys’ football team won the Sub Junior Boys’ National Football Championship 2025‑26 Tier 2 by defeating Telangana 2–1 in the final. The match was played at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Ground in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh.

Goal-scorers:

• Souvik Halder opened the scoring in the 13th minute.

• Abidnego S doubled the lead at 45+1′.

• Telangana’s late own goal by Jeremiah P in 90+11′ made it 2–1.

• By finishing as champion and finalist respectively, Tamil Nadu and Telangana have earned promotion to Tier 1 for the next season (2026-27).
