Jaismine Lamboria the new Boxing World Champion

NEW WORLD CHAMPION

A proud moment for Indian Boxing on Saturday night at Liverpool, England when as Jaismine Lamboria stormed to gold in the women’s 57 Kg category at the World Boxing Championships 2025, defeating Olympic silver medalist Julia Szeremeta of Poland in a gripping final.

Jaismine’s bout against Szeremeta began under intense pressure, with the Polish boxer — roared on by a large local contingent of supporters - taking the early initiative. However, the 24-year old Indian regrouped brilliantly in the second round using her superior reach and sharp counter punching to wrest control of the contest. She never let go thereafter, sealing a 4-1 split decision victory and India's first gold medal of the tournament.
