A total of 1390 players had initially registered for the auction process, a list whittled down to include 240 Indian and 110 are overseas recruits. The pool includes 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped overseas players, vying for 77 spots in total across 10 franchises.

As many as 40 players have named themselves in the highest bracket at Rs 2 crore.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will approach the auction with the largest purse, with ₹64.3 crore. This is due to their decision to retain only 12 players from their 2025 squad, maximising their available funds for new acquisitions.

Following KKR is the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who also possess a substantial budget of ₹43.4 crore. Mumbai Indians have the smallest purse at Rs 2.75 crore, followed by Punjab Kings at Rs. 11.5 crore.
