India vs South Africa, 3rd ODI: Yashasvi Jaiswal scores maiden ODI ton, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma slam fifties as IND defeat SA by 9 wickets
Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his maiden ODI ton while Virat Kohli rolled back the years with a blistering half century as India dominated South Africa in the run chase and won by 9 wickets to clinch series 2-1. Before Kohli’s blitzkrieg, Rohit Sharma set India off to a fiery start with Jaiswal, scoring 75 runs.
Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna took 4 wickets apiece as India bowled out South Africa for 270 runs in the 3rd ODI in Vizag. It was a brilliant turnaround from the Indian bowlers who looked to be under the cosh, especially when Quinton de Kock was batting, ultimately scoring 106 runs. After he was cleaned up by Prasidh, it was a big collapse from South Africa as they failed to get past 300, something that in the early stages of the match looked inevitable.
Indian skipper KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bowl first against Temba Bavuma’s South Africa in the third of the three-match ODI series at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. The series is all square at 1-1 going into the do-or-die clash.
