India (IND) vs South Africa (SA) 2nd ODI Match Date, Time, Squad, Venue, Playing 11 Prediction: India take on South Africa in the second One-Day International at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Wednesday
After pipping South Africa by 17 runs in a thriller in Ranchi during the first ODI, India will look to seal the three-match ODI series when they take on the Proteas in the second One-Day International at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Wednesday.
Led by Virat Kohli’s masterful century, his 52nd ODI ton, India posted 349 for eight after being invited to bat first. Chasing 350, South Africa lost Ryan Rickelton and Quinton de Kock, both for ducks in the second over. By the fifth over, stand-in skipper Aiden Markram also went back to the hut before South Africa’s middle-order paved the way for a resilient fight.
Tony de Zorzi, Matthew Breetzke, Marco Jansen and Corbin Bosch put up a solid fight, taking the game to the final over before Bosch fell to Prasidh Krishna, resulting in a 17-run win for India.
After resting for the first ODI, Temba Bavuma and Keshav Maharaj are expected to return for the crucial second game.
Here’s a look at all the details ahead of India vs South Africa 2nd ODI in Raipur
IND vs SA 1st ODI Predicted XIs
IND predicted XI: Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Washington Sundar, KL Rahul (c/wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna.
Key player to watch out for: Harshit Rana
Where the Indian bowlers struggled against a late charge led by the South African middle order, it was Harshit Rana, who utilised the hard white new ball to perfection in the first ODI. He cleaned up Ryan Rickelton before finding Quinton de Kock’s outside edge, removing both the top-order left-handers for ducks in his very first over. Rana has also worked on his swing bowling and was able to move the ball either way, as displayed in his opening spell in Ranchi. If he continues to develop his skills, Rana could be the X-factor that India are looking for.
SA predicted XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Ryan Rickelton, Temba Bavuma (C), Aiden Markram, Matthew Breetzke, Dewald Brevis, Corbin Bosch, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi, Nandre Burger/Prenalen Subrayen.
Key player to watch out for: Quinton de Kock
